Marking the 80th anniversary of Setonaikai National Park’s designation as a national park, Takamatsu City is now holding the“TeamLab & Kagawa, Summer Digital Art Festival”.
The “Water Screen”, the highlight of the festival, is created by projecting pictures onto a huge screen above the sea made by water cannons.
Held at Sunport Takamatsu, the waterfront is about 10minutes walk from JR Takamatsu station.
Check out the suspicious looking black ship! It is from there that water is sprayed and pictures projected, while the audience watches from the wood deck on the right.
It’s almost impossible to convey in words and pictures just what an amazing experience it is – You really have to see it for yourself.
The Genpei War’s Battle of Yashima, fishing… 3D digital art scenes connected to Kagawa appear on the night sea.
For more information, check out the PR video on YouTube! The show is presented by teamLab, an up-and-coming group of creators who produce outrageous digital art, such as the famous Takeshi Kitano commercial, “Universe of Water Particles”.
Other attractions at the site include a “food market”featuring 20 local stores, street performers, and live shows.
Held until August 8th, it’s a lovely way to spend a lazy summer night with the cooling sea breeze.
Experience new art that water, light, and sound create!!
