Located in Tokushima city, Tokushima prefecture, CLUB30 (Club Thirty) is a restaurant that specializes in curry. The restaurant is very popular for its delicious cheese curry, and for a local Tokushima dish not available in other restaurants!

Even the name of the dish is Tokushima Curry (JPY1250). The base of the curry is a regular cheese curry. There is plenty of melted cheese, and it’s delicious even as it is.

First of all, let’s take a look at the toppings.
The toppings on Tokushima Curry are made from local Tokushima ingredients.
There are 3 varieties of toppings: chicken cutlet made from Awao chicken, sautéd Awao chicken, and Awa pork back ribs.
Let’s choose our favorite.

This is the chicken cutlet made from Awao chicken.

These are the Awa pork back ribs.

And the special characteristic is…
I guess you may have noticed by looking at the photographs, but sudachi (a citrus fruit) is included! Those of you who thought “What? Sudachi with curry?” ! Try squeezing it in once.
It goes naturally together with the meat toppings, but it also goes well together with curry itself!
At first I was a bit afraid and did not add the sudachi before eating half of the portion! You’re guaranteed to regret it and think, “I should have squeezed it right in the beginning…”

There are also other well-known dishes on the CLUB30 menu.
This is the “triple cut cheese curry” (JPY1200)!

This curry that is heartily topped with three type of cutlets – chicken cutlets, pork cutlets and mince cutlets – is a curry to eat for wish for success before win or lose situations such as matches, exams, proposals and other similar situations (this is because of the Japanese word for ‘win’ ‘katsu’ sounds like the word for ‘cutlet’ which is also ‘katsu’).
If you eat this much ‘katsu’, you can only win (probably)!

Lastly, there is one more dish we want to recommend and it’s this.

Nan-curry pizza (JPY900)!
It’s a pizza with curry sauce – the dough is made from nan-bread.
The nan dough is quite thick, so it is 100 times chewier than the average pizza (according to the writer’s standards).
For those who love chewy food, it is irresistible.
