Niinohama & Senjojiki : White Sand Beach Facing the Cobalt Blue Sea of Japan! You Can Even Camp Here!

This is Niinohama Beach, one of the finest in Japan and some of the best quality waters anywhere in the country.

There are clusters of crinum growing on the seashore, and during summer the whole area is covered with white flowers in full bloom – a gorgeous sight.

Designated as a protected habitat, Niinohama Beach is Japan’s northernmost location where wild crinum grows.

The swimming season runs from early June through mid-August.

Adjoining the beach, there’s a camping area with services such as a parking area, cooking facilities, toilets, showers, and a place to wash your feet after playing in the sand.
Though forbidden during swimming season, the area is also popular with surfers.

Located right at the back of Niinohama Beach, this is Senjojiki.

It’s a grass plain that spreads out over the high ground at an altitude of 330m above sea level. It’s also a well-known camping area.

Climbing up to the observation deck offers great views over Omi Island amonge others floating in the Sea of Japan [ Dedicated link: https://setouchifinder.com/en/detail/714 ].

The green grass plain and the endlessly continuing sea and the sky…

You’ll find benches and tables set up on the grass plain, as well as a roofed area for cooking.

With the pleasant winds that blow through, it’s a great location for barbecuing…

Making it an ideal spot for pitching a tent, Senjoniki is also known as a camping area where you can admire a sky full of stars!

At night, when the fires of the squid fishing boats are lit, you can see a magical site that looks as if diamonds have been scattered over the scenery.

This is the morning sun as seen from the Senjojiki observation deck!

During summer, you can see the sun climbing up from the Sea of Japan.

As the sun climbs up, the surroundings become wrapped in an air of something divine! It’s the reward of the early birds!

Dotted with resting area views towards the sea, there’s a nature trail with a total length of about 4km that leads from Niinohama Beach to the Senjojiki camping area.

If you want to enjoy some beautiful scenery, have a swim and go camping, we highly recommend Niinohama Beach and Senjojiki!
