Did you know that Mukoujima Island has a chocolate factory? Known only to a select few, it is located by Shimanami Kaido, the highway that has become hugely popular among cyclists.
Shinya, the manager, Yassan and A2C, are three jolly comrades who manufacture and sell simple chocolate made only with cacao and sugar, which is as "fun" and "delicious" as their nicknames!
This is chocolate by USHIO CHOCOLATL.
While the cacao beans are imported through direct trade and home-roasted, the chocolate is handmade from the start. It has a rich cacao flavor coupled with the simplicity of the raw materials; delicious and very addictive.
The differences in texture also make the chocolate fun; "smooth" is a velvety kind of chocolate and "cranch" has a crunchy texture.
Starting with the concept, the visuals, and the natural raw materials, USHIO CHOCOLATL's chocolate is different from any that came before! The café and workshop may well become a new Onomichi famous spot, and of course it also offers a variety of souvenirs to take home.
