Sekitei is an inn which everyone would like to stay in at least once because of the superb views from there.
The photo above is the “Yunagi” (evening calm) room, which the owner says, “has the most beautiful view among all our rooms.”

The calm Seto Inland Sea and Miyajima lay in front of you.
The whole of Miyajima Island is considered to be an object of worship, believed to contain the spirit of a deity, and it looks like a goddess lying down on the sea.

All the rooms of Sekitei have a gorgeous bathtub.

#2 An inn where you can bathe in a hot spring in your room while enjoying the sea landscape / IBUKU Bettei

“Miyajima Hanare-no-yado IBUKU” was opened in July 2018 at Miyahama Onsen (hot spring) located on the shore opposite of Miyajima.
And “Bettei” (annex) was newly built on the land facing the sea.

Each house is named after trees and plants, and fabrics and cloth in the house are selected to reflect the image of the house’s name.
For example, the photo above is the interior of the house “Ume” (plum blossom).
The mild colors remind us of the lovely red plum blossoms which have been loved in Japan since ancient times. These colors give us peace of mind.

You can enjoy 2 kinds of baths in each house.
The bath inside of the room has various high-tech features, such as a jacuzzi, Bluetooth speakers, and LED lighting which can imitate moonlight.
The other bath is the open-air bath which borrows the beautiful landscape of Setouchi to create a special bathing atmosphere.

The photo above is the jacuzzi open-air bath in the house “Yuzuha.”
Of course, the hot water of both these baths all comes from the hot springs of Miyahama, flowing straight from the source.
Ease your body and mind with these fantastic spas.

#3. The premium inn with a view of the Onomichi Channel / LOG

This is “LOG,” an accommodation facility, halfway up the slope heading to Senko-ji Temple, one of the landmarks of Onomichi.
It was opened after renovating a modern apartment residence, which was built in 1950s.
The road in front of this valuable apartment is very narrow and it is obvious that cars or heavy machinery cannot use it.
The “LOG”building is harmonized with its surrounding environment, because it has kept the structure of the building as it was, and re-used the soil walls and roof tiles at the site.

You can stop by “LOG” even you do not stay overnight there.
How about enjoying a view of Onomichi’s townscape and Onomichi Channel from the window of the café & bar?
You can drink and eat there as a café in the afternoon, and it turns into a bar which serves Japanese wine, whisky, and so on in the evening.

apanese paper has been pasted on the floors, walls, and ceilings of all the rooms on the 3rd floor, and it gives you the feeling of being embraced gently by a cocoon.
There are views of the Seto Inland Sea from the windows of 4 of the 6 rooms.

This hotel will give you a warm welcome with its great open-air bath and fine cuisine with local ingredients.
It takes about 30 minutes by ferry from Takehara Port, located in south part of Hiroshima Prefecture, to get to the hotel.

If you can stay there on the night of a full moon, it will be the best and luckiest experience for you…!
The entire hotel is filled with the moon light, and the reflection of the full moon on the surface of the open-air bath is so beautiful and mystical.
You can fully re-charge your energy through the power of the sea and full moon.

I was born and raised in Hiroshima, but my mother's hometown is on Kojima island, Ehime prefecture. When I was little, I used to climb up on the roof of an orange warehouse and gaze at the picturesque islands of Seto. They were really beautiful. Now that I'm a bit older, I’m happy to be able to spend time working as a photo-writer and conveying the beauty and charm of the Seto Inland Sea. As well as writing at home, I live a short walk from the World Heritage site of Miyajima, I also work as a teacher and am currently studying color psychology.
